Job summary

PTW Energy Services is hiring Journeyman Electricians to join our branch team in Redwater, Alberta. The role involves interpreting drawings and electrical codes, testing and commissioning equipment, and maintaining industrial electrical systems across sites.

The ideal candidate will have Journeyman Electrician status, experience in construction or industrial environments, and a solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code. Proficiency in lockout/tagout and PLC-related tasks is required.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician status.
  • Experience in construction or industrial environments.
  • Ability to interpret Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Proficiency in lockout/tagout fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial control logic (ladder logic).
  • Familiarity with burner control systems and safety devices.
  • Experience with AC/DC motors and drives.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and electrical installations.
  • Ability to understand P&ID's.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specs to lay out industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair motors, drives, power, and control circuits.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair wiring, receptacles, conduits, feeders, and cable assemblies.
  • Size and install electrical circuits including panels, conduit, protective devices, and related equipment.
  • Fabricate and install conduit, perform 3-phase work, motor terminations, and panel work.

POSITION

PTW is hiring Journeyman Electriciansto join our branchteam in Redwater, Alberta.

A DAY IN THE LIFE…
  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Installs, examines, replaces or repairs AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC's, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160 volt switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
  • Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Sizes and installs electrical circuits including panels, wire size and type, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment needed to comply with the CEC and/or NEC.
  • Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Journeyman Electrician status.
  • Experience working in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Must have a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code.
  • Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout.
  • Must have basic knowledge of industrial control logic (ladder logic).
  • Must be familiar with burner control Systems - flame sensing systems, associated safety devices and logic, burner modulator controls; must understand and be able to troubleshoot.
  • Experience with AC & DC motors and drives.
  • Must be experienced in performing preventive maintenance tasks, taking corrective action for repairs, and be knowledgeable in electrical equipment installations.
  • Must understand P&ID's.
TICKETS REQUIREMENTS
  • H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, AWP & EMP, Fall Protection, ESTS.
  • Must have own transportation as most locations are not accessible with public transportation.
