Job summary

Ontario Clean Water Agency is seeking a skilled Utility Plant Electrician for Wasaga Beach facilities. You will troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical equipment, maintain controls, and support safe, reliable water operations.

Qualifications include a valid 309A electrician’s certificate, an approved apprenticeship, and journeyperson status. OIT readiness and a valid driver’s license are required; travel, overtime, and on-call shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• A valid Ontario Electrician’s Certificate of Qualification (309A).
• Completion of an approved apprentice program through the Ontario College of Trades (8160 hours on-the-job and 840 in-school).
• Registered in good standing as a journeyperson with the College of Trades.
• Willing to obtain Operator-in-Training (OIT) as per Safe Drinking Water Act regulations.
• Ability to travel, work overtime and be on-call on rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Examine, troubleshoot, and diagnose faults; perform repairs and maintenance on electrical equipment and control systems.
• Maintain and operate electrical distribution systems and related equipment for multiple facilities.
• Read plans and schematics; reference work orders; perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
