Job summary

West Fraser in Edson, Alberta is seeking a Journey Person Electrician to support our sawmill operations. You will contribute to safe, reliable electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, and document repairs to keep production flowing.

The ideal candidate holds a Red Seal certificate or equivalent journeyman certification, demonstrates strong problem solving and communication skills, and is willing to work weekends or shifts as needed in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrician.
• Red Seal Certificate or Journeyman certification required.
• Strong problem solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ensuring consistent operations of electrical equipment in the sawmill.
• Verification and documenting repairs.
• Monitoring product quality and providing feedback.
• PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) related tasks.
• Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
