Job summary

West Fraser in High Prairie, Alberta is seeking a Certified Electrician for the High Prairie Lumber sawmill. The role focuses on maintaining electrical systems, ensuring safe operations, and supporting production efficiency.

Ideal candidates hold a Red Seal and Journeyperson Certification with several years of industrial electrical experience, including PLCs and instrumentation. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as an electrician.
• Red Seal Certificate is required.
• A valid Journeyperson Certification is required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Understanding of process controls and instrumentation, including electric over pneumatic or hydraulic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure consistent operations of electrical equipment at the sawmill complex.
• Verify and document repairs via computer-based software.
• Monitor product quality and provide feedback.
• Read PLC programming for AB PLC5, Control Logix 5000.
• Perform preventative maintenance with small construction projects.
• Troubleshoot various equipment with other trades.
