Job summary

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a Johnson Controls subsidiary, is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician for our Edmonton facility. The role involves installing and terminating conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and control components, and fabricating control panels for complex systems.

You will read blueprints, follow vendor instructions, train apprentices, and ensure accurate maintenance records while adhering to NEC, NFPA, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery/equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with quality standards.
  • Accurate and highly analytical.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions from vendor manuals.
  • Complete and update assigned work orders daily.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices; inspect and certify their work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and standards.

Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.

This role is located at our facility in Edmonton and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.

This role will be offered to work Rotating Day Shift (6 AM - 6 PM).

TheJourneypersonElectrician isprimarily responsible for installing andterminatingconduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and devices for Silent-Aire Limited Partnership. This position constructs andfabricates control panels/systems and installs interlocking wiringand performs wiring check out.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics todeterminework procedures.
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructionsset forth invendor manuals.
  • Complete and update assigned work orders daily.
  • Assistin training, directing, andsupervision of junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work.
  • Keep detailed andaccuratemaintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.
  • Assistin preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Propose changes or modifications to plans to enhance operation and efficiency of systems plans and specifications for facilities.
  • Install andterminateconduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and devices.
  • Construct and fabricate control panels and rough and finish wiring and control systems.
  • Install interlocking wiring and perform wiring check out.
  • Install system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC, NESC, NFPA and the UFC.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, andmaintainelectrical control circuits for motors and control devices for various electrical devices.
  • Perform all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Other duties asrequired.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • LicensedJourneypersonElectrician.
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairingvarious typesof machinery and equipment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with quality standards.
  • Accurate and highly analytical.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring apprentices.
  • Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations an asset.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionallyat all times.
  • Strong workethicand positive team attitude.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to50lbs.
  • Commercial/Industrial environment.
