Job summary

Ketek Group Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Western and Northern Canada. The role involves interpreting drawings, setting up and maintaining electrical systems, and performing on-site service calls to support equipment at client facilities.

The successful candidate will read blueprints, provide cost estimates, and mentor apprentices while ensuring safety and compliance with local codes. This role requires travel to job sites and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or Red Seal.
• Industrial and commercial experience is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Plan layout and wiring based on specs and local codes.
• Perform on-site service calls to support equipment at customer facilities both local and out of town.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics for electrical equipment.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and ensure code compliance.
• Troubleshoot equipment.
• Mentor Apprentice Electricians.
• Perform cable pulling and wire installations and terminations.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties on site and service truck for cleanup/maintenance.
• Keep an accurate account for project assembly hours and materials.

Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician interprets drawings, sketches and specifications to produce or repair various parts and equipment, as well as undertakes the set-up and general maintenance of electrical systems. The Journeyman Electrician uses various equipment, machinery and hand tool to achieve the final product.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
