About Us
Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq.ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catchbasins.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on all production and facility equipment and systems
- Assist with troubleshooting all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshooting PLC Programs and Programmable Controllers
- Conduct equipment inspections as required or as outlined by the preventative maintenance schedule to detect and diagnose issues
- Report detailed records of work performed to Management
- Contribute to plant upgrades and improvements
Requirements
- Must hold a valid provincial certification as an Industrial or Construction Electrician
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills with the ability to clearly communicate
- Strong Electrical and PLC experience is essential
- Experience in the maintenance of overhead cranes is considered an asset
- Welding tickets considered an asset
- Available to work shifts on a flexible basis including short notice of overtime
