Job summary

PTW Energy Services in Fort McMurray seeks a Journeyman Electrician to join our team. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on industrial projects/sites, read blueprints, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code and safety regulations.

Qualifications include a valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal preferred), 4+ years of industrial maintenance electrical experience, and required safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician required with 4+ years of industrial maintenance electrical experience.
• Red Seal certification preferred; safety certifications (H2S Alive, Fall Protection, First Aid, CSTS 2020) required.

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Fort McMurray. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on industrial projects/sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components.


• Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.


• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective actions.


• Ensure all work complies with electrical code, safety regulations, and company policies.


• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.


• Test electrical systems using appropriate tools and equipment.


• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on job sites.


• Complete documentation, work orders, and reports as required.


• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.


• Other duties as required.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (Red Seal certification preferred).


• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance electrical work.


• Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020.


• Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and OH&S requirements.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.


• Proficient with hand tools, testing devices, and electrical equipment.


• Valid driver's licence


• Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and weekends, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction


• Ability to work in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Rate: Based on Experience


• Shift:21on and 7off


• Travel: Flights provided from Calgary or Edmonton


• Accommodations: Camp Provided


• Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate.
