Role Description

This full-time, on-site Journeyman Electrician role is based in the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area and focuses on electrical work in industrial energy sector environments. The Journeyman Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls, following technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, performing routine inspections and testing, and completing preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation of client facilities. The role involves collaborating with project managers, instrumentation technicians, and other trades to support construction projects, plant turnarounds, and upgrades, while accurately documenting work performed. The Journeyman Electrician is expected to uphold strict safety practices, comply with regulatory requirements, and contribute to efficient, high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles applicable to industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical work, including installation of wiring, panels, motors, and control systems.
  • Experience with maintenance & repair of electrical equipment, systems, and components in plant or field settings.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving electrical faults and performance issues.
  • Exposure to or understanding of electrical engineering concepts related to industrial power and controls.
  • Valid Journeyperson Electrician certification (e.g., Red Seal or provincial equivalent) and appropriate trade tickets.
  • Solid familiarity with industrial and construction safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Reliable team collaboration skills, clear communication, and the capacity to work in varying site and weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within the Greater Edmonton area and surrounding regions as needed.
