Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician to support field projects and maintenance of power equipment. You will work with project teams, perform repairs, testing, and commissioning on low to high voltage systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, report writing, and coordinating with clients. Travel to remote sites, flexible shifts including weekends and holidays may be required. Valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyman Electrician designation is required.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance (low to high voltage).
  • Broad knowledge of commercial, industrial and utility environments.
  • Trade or tech school certification is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to self-manage with initiative and client focus.
  • Proficient in Windows and Office applications.
  • Strong problem solving skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites and work flexible shifts.

Reporting to the Technical Field Services Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to support project teams and field projects; ultimately providing exceptional client service through repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

Brief Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Electrician in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Technical Field Services Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to support project teams and field projects; ultimately providing exceptional client service through repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

Accountabilities
  • Repair, Terminate and troubleshoot low, medium and high voltage power cables. Installations to include heat shrink, cold shrink and Pfisterer terminations experience is an asset but not required.
  • Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in a variety of environments, including commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline and oil and gas experience is an asset but not required.
  • Testing and diagnosis of cable health via DC, VLF / Tan Delta and Partial Discharge Test methods experience is an asset but not required.
  • Confidently work with various brands of test and troubleshooting equipment experience is an asset but not required.
  • Complete technical report writing
  • Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Various other duties as required
Requirements
