Job summary

Kal Tire in Edmonton is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician to perform routine maintenance and handle complex repairs on a variety of vehicles. This full-time, permanent role is based in South Edmonton.

You will mentor apprentices and support the growth of the next generation of technicians while upholding safety and quality standards. Kal Tire offers a clear path to becoming a Lead Technician and provides extended benefits.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experience performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing and repairs on various vehicles.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, supporting their skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team on vehicles from passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards in all tasks.
