Job summary

Big Kev’s Tire & Auto in St. Albert, AB is seeking a Journeyperson Mechanic to diagnose and repair a range of vehicles, perform routine maintenance, tire install and balancing, and ensure safety standards are met.

You will communicate findings to service advisers and customers, maintain repair records, and support teammates in a busy, hands-on shop focused on quality workmanship. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Recognized Journeyperson automotive technician certification (or equivalent).
• Strong experience with general vehicle diagnostics and repair.
• Proficiency in tire services including mounting, balancing, repairs, and alignments.
• Hands-on skills in brake systems, suspension, steering and routine maintenance.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, service manuals and shop equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and commitment to safety and quality.
• Effective communication skills for discussing issues with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and brake work.
• Install and balance tires, and perform alignment checks.
• Inspect vehicles, identify required repairs, and order parts as needed.
• Complete work to safety standards and manufacturer specs.
• Test-drive vehicles to confirm repairs and maintain repair records.
• Keep workspace organized and support teammates in a team environment.
• Communicate findings and recommended work clearly to service advisors and customers.
