Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Senior Corporate Payroll Specialist in Canada to manage payroll operations, audit time records, and ensure accurate data integrity. The role covers processing payroll, handling deductions and compliance, and supporting data entry with HR.

This temporary position lasts up to 15 months. You will collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure timely payroll support, including complex wage assignments and verifications, while maintaining data accuracy and process

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience with payroll processing.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
  • Union, Construction, Hourly and Salary payroll knowledge required.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Technical expertise regarding payroll processing, resolution methodology and client communications.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently facilitate complex payroll processing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products preferred.
  • Dayforce and ADP experience are preferred.
  • French Language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll within assigned frequencies, compiling payroll data and issuing paychecks.
  • Process wage assignments, garnishments, child support orders, and employment verifications.
  • Audit system entries for new hires, status changes, compensation changes and terminations.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries timely and in compliance with procedures.
  • Analyze payroll reports to ensure accurate tracking and accruals.
  • Support reconciliation of outstanding payroll checks with Accounting.

Overview

Are you a detailed oriented professional passionate about ensuring accuracy in financial processes? As a Senior Corporate Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing payroll operations and maintaining data integrity. You will process payroll, audit time records and ensure that all new hire and change form entries are accurately recorded. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to deliver timely and accurate payroll support.

This role is a termperary role, lasting up to 15 months.

What you will be doing
  • Processes payroll within Company assigned frequencies, which includes compiling payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and withholding union dues, and preparing and issuing paychecks.
  • Processes timely and accurate wage assignments, garnishments, child support orders, and employment verifications.
  • Audits all system entries for new hires, status and compensation change and termination submissions with the support of the HR Data Entry team.
  • Responds and resolves payroll inquiries in a timely and compliance manner and within prescribed methods.
  • Analyzes payroll reports such as Job Costs, Gross Payroll Registers, Vacation Reports to ensure accurate and timely tracking and accruals.
  • Supports reconciliation of outstanding payroll checks with the corporate Accounting team.
What we are looking for
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 5+ years’ experience with payroll processing.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
  • Union, Construction, Hourly and Salary payroll knowledge required.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Technical expertise regarding payroll processing, resolution methodology and client communications.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently facilitate complex payroll processing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products preferred.
  • Above average planning and organizational skills preferred.
