Job summary

Rockwood Service Corporation is seeking a CGSB RT2 Technician to join our Echo NDE team in Red Deer, AB. This full-time role supports our radiographic testing operations, requiring CGSB RT Level 2 certification and related safety standards compliance.

You will calibrate equipment, inspect welds and components, analyze images, and report findings with precise documentation. The ideal candidate maintains positive client relations, demonstrates strong safety awareness, and can manage time

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up radiographic testing equipment, including X-ray or gamma ray sources, detectors, and imaging devices.
  • Calibrate the equipment according to specific standards and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Verify the setup to comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform radiographic inspections on welds, castings, and structural parts to detect internal flaws, discontinuities, or defects.
  • Analyze radiographic images to identify and assess anomalies or defects such as cracks, voids, inclusions, or misalignments.
  • Document and report findings with detailed descriptions of defects and their potential impact.
  • Make recommendations for further action such as repairs or re-testing based on image evaluation.
  • Follow standards and procedures and monitor to ensure accuracy of results and project timelines.
  • Utilize written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.

Position Summary

Echo NDE is a wholly owned subsidiary of TIC Solutions and provides full service non‑destructive testing, inspection, and integrity services throughout North America. Our wide array of services is tailored towards maintenance, integrity, construction for both facility and pipeline sectors to a range of industries. We are currently seeking a CGSB certified RT2 Technician to join and contribute to our team. This is a full-time permanent position that will support our operations based out of Red Deer, AB.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare and set up radiographic testing equipment, including X-ray or gamma ray sources, detectors, and imaging devices.

  • Calibrate the equipment according to specific standards and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.

  • Verify the setup to comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Perform radiographic inspections on various materials and components, such as welds, castings, and structural parts, to detect internal flaws, discontinuities, or defects.

  • Analyze radiographic images to identify and assess the presence of any anomalies or defects, such as cracks, voids, inclusions, or misalignments.

  • Document and report the findings, providing detailed descriptions of any defects found and their potential impact on the integrity of the tested object.

  • Make recommendations for further action, such as repairs or re-testing, based on the evaluation of the radiographic images.

  • Follow standards and procedures and monitor to ensure accuracy of results and meets quality and safety objectives and project time-lines.

  • Utilize written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.


Requirements


  • CGSB RT Level 2 Certification.

  • CGSB MT and PT Level 2 certifications is considered an asset.

  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients.

  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness.

  • Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level.

  • Valid driver's license.
