Job summary

Theatre Alberta seeks a Tour Manager in Edmonton to work with Theatre Prospero on a Shakespeare production. You will promote the show to schools, manage teacher communications, and track booking data. The Tour Manager and Coordinator may assist with actor coordination and other administrative tasks during the tour.

This is an eight-week, full-time position with a wage of 15.25 CAD per hour. Previous event promotion experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with database/spreadsheet tools for tracking bookings and contacts.
• Experience in promoting shows to schools and managing campaigns.
• Strong time-management and organizational abilities.
• Interest or coursework in theatre administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Make calls to schools to help promote and book the show.
• Maintain correspondence with interested teachers.
• Track all information related to bookings and tours.
• Tour Manager and Coordinator may assist with administrative tasks, such as coordination of actors during the tour.

The Tour Manager will be working along side a team to promote an upcoming Shakespeare production. Tasks and responsibilities include:

• Making calls to schools to help promote and book the show
• Maintain correspondance with interested teachers
• Tracking all information
• The Tour Manager and Coordinator may also assist with admisinstrative work, such as cooridantion of actors during the tour.

Specialized Skills Required

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Airtable, or similar database systems
• Great communication and direct marketing experience
• Good time-management and organizational skills

What will be accomplished at the end of the position?

• A fully booked minimum two-week tour
• Invoices sent and/or payments received from schools
• Updated database information
