Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience with Canadian building code.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• LEED AP or LEED project experience is an asset.
• Architectural Technology diploma or related education.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience providing technical guidance to junior staff is an asset.
• Some site experience preferred.
• Possess a portfolio of good technical work is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to junior technologists in producing detailed contract documents for large/complex projects.
• Coordinate and integrate building systems (mechanical, electrical, structural) and codes.
• Produce high-quality construction documentation and drive technical innovation.
• Lead and mentor team members to develop in-house expertise and efficiencies.
• Manage time and schedules to meet project deadlines.

Our Client

A sustainable design oriented Architecture firm in Calgary, is hiring for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist or Job Captain to join their collaborative team. This company is well established with projects that span across many sectors including commercial, public and multi-family projects.

The Job

The ideal applicant will provide technical guidance to less experienced technologists in the production of detailed contract documents for large and/or technically complex projects, including drawings, construction documents, mark ups and review, within a team environment. The technologist role focuses on working with local and national building codes, coordination and integration of building systems (mechanical, electrical and structural) and materials and methods of construction. The individual will provide expertise in the production of high quality construction documentation and technical innovation, and will fulfill a role that is crucial to the overall success of the firm. This senior role provides leadership and direction to team members to develop in-house expertise and efficiencies of our work. Able to manage time and schedules to meet project deadlines. Being self-motivated and able to develop a well-coordinated set of contract documents is required.

What's Required

• 12+ years of industry experience with at least 4 years of working knowledge of Canadian building code
• Proficiency in Revit is required
• Ability to work together in a team environment
• LEED AP or LEED project experience is an asset
• Architectural Technology diploma or related education
• Strong communication skills
• Experience providing technical guidance to junior staff is an asset
• Some site experience preferred
