Job summary

Morgan Stanley in Montreal seeks a Java Tech Lead - Cash Confirmations to provide senior technology leadership for its global cash confirmations platforms, shaping target-state architecture and resiliency across asset classes and regulatory jurisdictions.

You will drive modernization, cloud adoption, event-driven processing, and guide teams on non-functional requirements, audits, and production incidents, leveraging 10+ years in enterprise software and a proven leadership record.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise software engineering and distributed systems.
• 3–5 years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience designing and governing large-scale, low-latency transaction processing.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps for confirmation platforms.
• Drive platform modernization including cloud adoption, event-driven architecture, distributed processing, and resiliency improvements.
• Serve as SME for cash confirmation workflows, including trade confirmation generation, exception processing, and regulatory/audit requirements.
• Partner with business and operations stakeholders to translate confirmation processing requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Guide teams on non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, capacity management, disaster recovery, monitoring and observability, production readiness.
• Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments with architectural guidance and remediation plans.
• Provide leadership during critical production incidents and major platform transformation initiatives.
