Job summary

E IT in Toronto, Canada is seeking a senior backend Java developer to design and enhance RESTful services while modernizing legacy systems. You will contribute to building scalable web applications, ensure security considerations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Required are strong Java skills, Spring/Spring Boot, AWS experience, and proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL, plus effective communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Job description

8+ years of hands-on experience in IT industry with good experience in JAVA/J2EE and restful web-services development.

Strong backend experience is critical to this role and security expertise is a plus.

Comfortable working with and improving upon legacy systems and code as you are building new features and applications.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with databases directly, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL, and how they are addressed by the application.

Experience with injection frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot is a must.

Must have solid experience with Java stack and build tools like GIT, tools for code quality and coverage.

Should have experience working on AWS cloud environments.

Experience developing new and enhancing existing features as well as investigating and resolving defects.

Experience in Designing and developing web-based applications and backend services.

Adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, and design best practices.

Ensure quality by performing thorough testing and leveraging peer reviews for your work and the work of others.
