Job summary

Bounteous in Montreal is seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to deliver robust backend systems that power client-facing platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement RESTful APIs, optimize performance, and follow best practices through code reviews and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17 preferred) and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance Microservices-based architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and release activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Agile development teams.
• Create automation scripts and tools where required.
