Job summary

RedCompass Labs is seeking a technical professional to join our Payments Integration team. You will work on international banking projects, influencing technology and architecture, and writing code focused on payments with Java, Spring, Kafka, and cloud technologies.

You will lead engineering implementation, collaborate with architects, and contribute to cloud and on‑prem deployments, while sharing knowledge across the team and driving platform evolution.

Qualifications

Role Description

This role is to join an existing Technology Skill Network at RedCompass Labs, a group of IT enthusiasts and experts. Together with other team members, you be working on one of our projects on the payments integration system for international clients from the banking sector. You will have a real influence on technology and architectural decisions and work with the code. Daily, you will deal with the domain related to payments and the financial using knowledge about Java, Spring framework, Kafka and Cloud Technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with clients, RedCompass Labs engineering and other RedCompass Labs staff to understand requirements and implement technical solutions
• Lead on engineering implementation
• Cooperate with other experts and architects to develop a solution
• Contribute to engineering ceremonies, ways of working and solution development activities as a member of the engineering team
• Share your knowledge, experience and best practice with other members of the engineering team and wider RedCompass Labs
• Contribute to the deployment of our platform on commercial cloud and client on-premise environments
• Contribute to the on-going evolution of our development environment and platform automated deployment

Required Technologies& Reqirements

• Java 17 and above
• Spring Boot Ecosystem
• Data processing, analysis and modelling
• Relational databases (JPA, hibernate) and NoSQL DB (e.g. Mongo)
• Kafka
• Elastic stack (Elastic Search, Kibana)
• Docker containers and Linux OS
• Excellent communication skills (written & oral English) including the ability to communicate and present both at a technical and non-technical level
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, including working directly with client teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Messaging system, e.g. IBM MQ
• Analytics and algorithms such as graph, clustering, supervised & unsupervised machine learning
• DevOps technologies, such as: Jenkins, Ansible, Gradle, Hashicorp stack (Terraform, Vault, Consul)
• Deploying software in a regulated financial services environment
