Jobility Talent Solutions is hiring for a Senior Java Backend Developer opportunity with a leading financial services organization.

This is a Senior Java Backend Developer position combining hands-on development with team guidance and production support responsibilities. You'll work with a small global developer team while maintaining expertise in Java-based systems, particularly those leveraging AI tools for development efficiency and microservices architecture.

Core Responsibilities

You’ll conduct requirements analysis, software design, and estimation while actively developing. You’re responsible for guiding architectural evaluations, tracking projects, and providing L3 support for production issues. The role includes coordinating with technology and infrastructure teams, managing status communications to senior leadership, and proactively identifying operational risks and control gaps. You’ll champion platform offerings for consumer onboarding and demonstrate technology leadership through collaboration across internal and external groups.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience building and deploying Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of hands-on development with core Java, including web services, RESTful APIs, and UI technologies across multiple projects.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL databases, XML/JSON data formats, messaging systems, and data modeling principles for complex applications.
• Proven experience with Unix/Linux scripting, version control systems (Git/SVN), build tools (Maven), and Java IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ).
• Demonstrated expertise in in-memory caching solutions such as Gridgain or Oracle Coherence for high-performance applications.
• Solid background in microservices architecture design and implementation, along with automation testing frameworks and best practices.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and distributed computing frameworks (Spark) for data processing and deployment.

Specialized Skills

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools including Claude, Windsurf, and GitHub Copilot for code generation and development acceleration.
• 3+ years working in Capital Markets environment, with understanding of trading systems, post-trade processing, or investment management platforms.
• Familiarity with static code analysis and security scanning tools such as NexusIQ, Sonar, and Checkmarx for code quality and vulnerability management.
• Demonstrated experience executing various software development methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and hybrid approaches.
• Good knowledge of reference data management and data governance in financial services contexts.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Strong understanding of financial services industry practices, regulations, and technology landscape.
• Proven ability to mentor and collaborate with global development teams on complex technical initiatives.
