Job summary

Canlan Sports in Toronto is seeking a proactive janitor to perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties across our sports complex, ensuring a clean, safe environment for patrons and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning, basic repairs, grounds upkeep, snow and debris removal, and maintaining records and checklists. Availability for late-night shifts (12:00am–8:00am) is required to support operations and event needs.

Qualifications

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset.
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Must be available from 12:00am - 8:00am

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including property & grounds cleanup.
• Grass cutting and edging (if applicable) and seasonal snow and debris removal.
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports (window cleanliness, parking lot, property cleaning).
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures.
• Assist with minor maintenance as required and in Ice Maintenance during peak periods or short staffing.

We are currently looking for a pro-active janitor that is a hands-on individual who will perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Their primary responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• Valid driver’s license an asset
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)\
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be available from 12:00am - 8:00am
