Job summary

Canlan Sports is seeking a proactive janitor to perform cleaning and minor maintenance at our sports complex. You will ensure the facility and surrounding grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained, including interior cleaning and ground upkeep.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a Building Service Worker Certificate (BC) and a valid driver’s license (asset). Availability to work evenings, weekends and call outs is preferred.

• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are clean, safe and well-maintained.
• Perform floor care tasks including vacuuming, waxing, and buffing as required.
• Assist with minor maintenance and ice maintenance during peak periods or shortages.

Rate of Pay: $20.50-$22.60/ hour

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a pro-active janitor that is a hands-on individual who will perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Their primary responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
• Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to:
• Window cleanliness
• Parking lot & property cleaning checklist
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance as required
• Assist in Ice Maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset
• Valid driver’s license an asset
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)\
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written)
