Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. is seeking team members to help maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe shopping environment. You will support customers and fellow Team Members by keeping shared spaces tidy and contributing to a positive in-store experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, housekeeping, inventory support, and adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety standards; flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or cleaning in a food retail environment is an asset.
• Ability to work independently with high-quality results and cleanliness standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in a team setting.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas (sweeping, mopping, dusting).
• Keep shared spaces, washrooms and locker rooms well maintained.
• Assist with inventory tracking and purchasing of store supplies.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and proper equipment use.
• Complete opening/closing procedures and support team members as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support store operations.

• Deliver friendly and engaging customer service that supports Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Ensure all shared and team member spaces are well maintained, including eating areas, washrooms, and locker rooms.
• Assist with inventory tracking and purchasing of store supplies as requested.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures, with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and proper equipment use.
• Complete designated opening and closing procedures and support fellow Team Members as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities on a periodic basis to support overall store operations.

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience in a food retail environment is considered an asset.
• The ability to work independently while taking pride in high-quality results, attention to detail, and cleanliness standards.

• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement, use of protective equipment or clothing, exposure to environmental elements (noise, dirt, dust), and work that may be performed in colder environments.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
