Position

IT Technician – Information Security Specialist – Full‑Time – Head Office, Richmond

Role & Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain information security controls across networks, endpoints, applications, and cloud services.
  • Monitor and triage security alerts from tools such as Darktrace NDR, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms.
  • Support incident response activities, including evidence collection, initial investigation, and escalation.
  • Assist with vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and patch management.
  • Help maintain security documentation, policies, procedures, and asset inventories.
  • Assist with third‑party/vendor security reviews and questionnaires.
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives and help promote secure user behavior.
  • Perform routine security checks and operational tasks as assigned.
  • Document IT procedures, configurations, and incidents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in information security operations, IT security, or a related technical role.
  • Familiarity with web application security concepts such as OWASP Top 10.
  • Experience with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks security solutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or cloud environments.
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell or Python.
