Description
Reporting to the Team Leader, IT Services, as a member of front-line computer services the successful candidate is responsible for supporting and delivering IT services to the organization's internal clients. The person ensures that equipment and software are kept operational and in good condition, that problems related to FPInnovations' technology are resolved quickly and that a secure computer environment is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Project a positive and responsible image to all users.
- Respond to internal requests regarding the use of computer and telecommunication technologies.
- Use the call centre software to manage priorities, share the workload with colleagues and keep track of events affecting IT services.
- Install, configure, and update users’ computers, peripherals and software required for FPInnovations' research and communications needs.
- Participate in the development of technical solutions to meet users' general or specific needs.
- Redirect unresolved calls, using established procedures.
- Ensure the ongoing development of call centre software by offering solutions to improve overall IT services.
- Contribute to improving user efficiency and reducing service calls by ensuring that users are familiar with standard software, either by providing the necessary information or by offering appropriate training activities on a larger scale.
- Keep abreast of technological developments, have up to date knowledge and propose potential computer technologies to increase the efficiency of FPInnovations and of the IT services department.
- Be up to date on Cyber security and stay informed.
Qualifications
- College diploma, diploma of professional study in the field of IT or university degree in information technology or a related field, or the equivalent in training and experience.
- Three (3) year of experience in technology support or similar experience.
- Technical knowledge including standard applications, computers, networks, and peripheral systems as well as landline and cellular telephone and videoconferencing systems such as Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft GPO, Network & VPN, Cisco VoIP and Microsoft Teams VoIP, Call Management (Octopus), Videoconference & Web collaboration Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, McAfee Endpoint Protection, Microsoft Security Suite, Microsoft Office, LogMeIn, Dameware Remote Utility .
Skills
- Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written). and French an asset.
- Strong aptitude for learning new methods, products, or tools, either self-taught or through specialized training.
- Ability to work easily in collaboration with others and in a team.
- Well-honed organizational and prioritization skills.
