Job summary

CAE Inc. is seeking an IT System Architecture Specialist to design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT solutions across CAE's Defense & Security Canada Region.

You will lead architecture development, ensure security and regulatory compliance, and guide project lifecycles with a focus on hybrid on-prem and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and IT leadership to deliver scalable, reliable systems using TOGAF principles, cloud platforms,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, solution architecture, systems design, or similar.
• TOGAF or equivalent framework experience.
• Hands-on with Azure and/or AWS cloud.
• Knowledge of APIs, ESB, and microservices architectures.
• Security architecture principles and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Familiar with DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.

## IT System Architecture SpecialistApply: Ottawa: Montreal (St. Laurent): Mirabel: Halifax: Full time: Posted Today: 123308⠀ ## **Description**The IT System Architecture Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level IT solutions that support business objectives and technology strategies across CAE's Defense & Security Canada Region. **Key responsibilities include:*** Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines.* Design end-to-end technology solutions that integrate applications, data, and infrastructure components.* Ensure architecture solutions comply with security, regulatory, operational, and organizational requirements.* Lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance throughout project lifecycles.* Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.* Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations regarding adoption and implementation strategies.* Define integration patterns and architecture approaches across hybrid environments, including on-premises and cloud-based platforms.* Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.* Support the development and implementation of monitoring, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.* Incorporate Government of Canada cybersecurity principles and requirements into architecture designs.* Support adherence to data protection, privacy, and information security standards.* Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and IT leadership.* Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and risks to technical and non-technical audiences. ## **Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field* Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture, solution architecture, systems design, or a related discipline* Experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture solutions in complex technology environments* Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)* Knowledge of virtualization, networking, and enterprise infrastructure technologies* Experience with integration technologies and architectural patterns, including APIs, enterprise service bus (ESB), and microservices* Knowledge of security architecture principles, cybersecurity controls, and compliance requirements* Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies* Experience supporting Flight Operations and/or Flight Training environments* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders ## **Preferred Qualifications*** Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.* Experience working within regulated environments supporting government, defense, aerospace, or security-related programs.* Experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives across large organizations.* Professional certifications such as: + TOGAF + Microsoft Azure Architect + AWS Solutions Architect + CISSP + ITIL ## **Benefits*** Flexible Employee benefits programs* Opportunity to work on a variety of projects within multidisciplinary teams* Flexible work schedules* Hybrid work flexibility, including occasional work-from-home arrangements* Environment that recognizes and values employee contributions and initiatives # **Base Pay Range***Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.*$107,500 - $157,500 CAD
