Job summary

CAE Inc in Canada is seeking an IT System Architecture Specialist to design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑level IT solutions across CAE's Defense & Security Canada Region. You will develop standards, design end‑to‑end solutions, and ensure security and regulatory compliance while guiding project lifecycles.

You will collaborate with analysts, developers, PMs, and stakeholders, evaluate new technologies, and define integration patterns for hybrid on‑premises and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in IT architecture or related roles.
• Experience implementing enterprise architecture in complex environments.
• Experience with TOGAF or Zachman.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure and/or AWS).
• Knowledge of security controls and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience supporting Flight Operations environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of monitoring, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Incorporate Government of Canada cybersecurity principles and requirements into architecture designs.
• Support adherence to data protection, privacy, and information security standards.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The IT System Architecture Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level IT solutions that support business objectives and technology strategies across CAE's Defense & Security Canada Region.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture, solution architecture, systems design, or a related discipline.


• Experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture solutions in complex technology environments.


• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.


• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).


• Knowledge of virtualization, networking, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.


• Experience with integration technologies and architectural patterns, including APIs, enterprise service bus (ESB), and microservices.


• Knowledge of security architecture principles, cybersecurity controls, and compliance requirements.


• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.


• Experience supporting Flight Operations and/or Flight Training environments.


• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.


• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.


• Experience working within regulated environments supporting government, defense, aerospace, or security‑related programs.


• Experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives across large organizations.

Base Pay Range

Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity. $107,500 - $157,500 CAD
