Responsibilities

The support technician provides telephone support for helpdesk and related processes, offering tier one IT support for hardware and software issues. Responsibilities include using help desk software to log and track calls, documenting incidents, routing calls, and notifying technicians of critical issues requiring immediate action. The technician must maintain skills to effectively communicate with users and escalate issues as necessary, and inform the Director/Manager of any significant problems affecting the department.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Required qualifications:

1. Experience in help desk activities using help desk software
2. Knowledge of email system fundamentals
3. Understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, MS/NT)
4. Familiarity with internet and web browser concepts
5. High School Diploma (required for all hires starting 4/1/14)

Preferred qualifications:

1. A+ certification (preferred)
2. 0-2 years related work and customer service experience (preferred)
3. Knowledge of Outlook, MS Office, and Active Directory (preferred)

The estimated total compensation for this role is $21.00 per hour, including wages and benefits. The final offer will consider experience, education, credentials, and other factors.
