A leading company in IT services is seeking a Senior System Administrator to lead the design and maintenance of core systems. This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership in managing system lifecycles, and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Windows and Linux environments, along with proven experience in system security and automation.
Role Objectives
As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Breadfast’s core IT systems and services. You will ensure system availability, performance, and security, while driving continuous improvement and automation across infrastructure operations. This role requires advanced technical skills and leadership in managing system lifecycles, as well as cross-team collaboration.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain Windows and Linux server infrastructure, both on-premises and on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP or Azure).
Manage and support virtualized environments including VMware and Nutanix.
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP services.
Manage user identity, access provisioning, and permission policies across platforms.
Perform system performance tuning, health checks, patching, and upgrades.
Oversee backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring RPO/RTO targets are met.
Lead incident resolution for complex system issues and conduct root cause analysis.
Enforce system security measures, including endpoint protection and vulnerability remediation.
Automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
Collaborate with DevOps, Network, and Security teams to streamline infrastructure integration.
Document all system configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
Train and mentor junior system engineers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator.
Proven experience with Microsoft environments: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy.
Solid knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix) and cloud infrastructure.
Strong understanding of system security practices and data protection.
Proficient in backup technologies and disaster recovery planning.
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix, or similar).
Hands-on with scripting (PowerShell/Bash) and automation.
MCSE or equivalent certification is a must.
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Linux administration (CentOS, Ubuntu).
Knowledge of MDM and endpoint management tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps workflows, or containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
