Job summary

Equitable is hiring a Project Manager for IT Infrastructure, Cloud and Service Management in Waterloo, ON. The role focuses on project planning, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication across Networking, Storage, Cloud (Azure), and Vendor Management.

The position is hybrid, requiring a minimum two consecutive in-office days every other week, with potential for more. 5th day per month optional, and a background screening is part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a formal Project Management role.
  • Experience in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Advanced communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong relationship skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to lead organizational change effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitate regular project team meetings, including meeting minutes, decisions, action items, etc.
  • Identify and elevate risks and issues related to project milestones/goals.
  • Track project progress and submit regular status reports.
  • Build and monitor implementation and adoption plans.
  • Manage knowledge transfer from delivery team to support teams and ensure solutions are stable and supportable.
  • Lead and motivate the project team, fostering collaboration and productivity.
  • Apply analytical thinking and problem solving to resolve project obstacles and manage efficiencies in delivery.

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our IT Infrastructure, Cloud and Service Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for project planning and reporting, risk mitigation and stakeholder communication while fostering a collaborative and inclusive project team environment. Projects will include hardware upgrades, software upgrades, SaaS integrations and will span technology domains such as Networking, Storage / Compute, Cloud (Azure), Personal Computing, Service Management and Vendor Management.

Work Arrangements

This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement, and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you’ll bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience / education in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a formal Project Management role
  • Experience in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project methodologies
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure domains (e.g. networking, servers, storage, personal computers, operating systems)
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated relationship skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead organizational change effectively
