Job summary

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams in a full-time, on-site capacity in Dartmouth, NS. You will oversee a portfolio of IT implementation projects and enhancements, partnering with business leaders to improve processes, systems, and ways of working.

The role demands strong PM experience, PMP credential, excellent communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity within Canada’s CGP and ITAR regulatory framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management and IT experience with demonstrated career progression
  • PMP or equivalent designation
  • Strong relationship-building, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex business problems, and drive decisions to completion
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Decision-making capability with sound judgment and analytical support
  • Must meet Canadian CGP, Canadian Government Security clearance, and ITAR requirements

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, developing an understanding of operational priorities, challenges, and opportunities
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to identify, define, and document business problems and desired outcomes before determining solution options
  • Lead the delivery of IT implementation projects and enhancements through all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and expected benefits
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications to support successful outcomes
  • Implement projects using established project management methodologies, developing and maintaining project plans, stage gates, deliverables, and governance processes to ensure successful delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, reporting, and automation capabilities, translating ideas into actionable initiatives and enhancements
