Job summary

Avenue Living Asset Management seeks an experienced IT Field Support specialist to provide hands-on assistance across Canada and the U.S. for private equity platforms.

The role emphasizes hardware, POS systems, network infrastructure, and incident resolution in a dynamic retail environment. Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years in IT operations or field support, valid travel credentials, and strong communication skills to support diverse, multi-location teams.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of IT operations/field support experience.
• Post-secondary IT or related field; valid driver's license and passport.
• Willingness to travel and provide after-hours support.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, networking, POS, and peripherals.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless, firewalls, switches.
• Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and iOS; adaptable with users of all levels.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT field support for Avenue Living’s private equity companies across Canada and the U.S.
• Troubleshoot and support critical technology, including POS systems, payment terminals, printers, scanners, mobile devices, peripherals, and network infrastructure.
• Respond to business-critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
• Support new deployments, including hardware installation, network setup, configuration, testing, and go-live readiness.
• Partner with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors while maintaining documentation and contributing to process improvements.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Provide hands‑on IT field support for Avenue Living’s private equity companies across corporate and field locations in Canada and the U.S.
• Troubleshoot and support critical technology, including POS systems, payment terminals, printers, scanners, mobile devices, peripherals, and network infrastructure.
• Respond to business‑critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
• Support new deployments, including hardware installation, network setup, configuration, testing, and go‑live readiness.
• Partner with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors while maintaining documentation and contributing to process improvements.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

• 5-8 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, or field operations, ideally within a retail technology environment.
• Post‑secondary education in IT, telecommunications, or a related field; valid driver’s license and passport; ability to travel and provide after‑hours support as required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, connectivity, POS systems, payment terminals, and related devices.
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless networks, firewalls, and switches.
• Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and iOS environments, with the ability to support both technical and non‑technical users.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and relationship‑building skills in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environment.
