A leading company is seeking an IT Business Analyst to transition a pilot digital adoption service into a permanent offering for the Government of Alberta. This role involves strategizing and developing support resources for Microsoft 365 applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position is primarily remote with occasional on-site meetings in Edmonton. Ideal candidates must be well-versed in requirements gathering, project management, and delivering user training.
Job Summary: This role involves transitioning a pilot digital adoption service into a permanent offering for the Government of Alberta. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for developing strategies, roadmaps, training programs, and support resources related to Microsoft 365 applications. This includes gathering and analyzing business requirements, designing solutions, collaborating with IT and business teams, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with Microsoft 365, and a proven ability to lead technical teams and manage projects. The role is primarily remote, however, occasional on-site meetings in Edmonton may be required.
Location: Canada, Remote
Responsibilities: - Evaluate current services and recommend gaps.
- Research and evaluate latest technology trends.
- Develop strategy documents and roadmaps.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks.
- Develop and monitor adoption metrics and analyze KPIs.
- Develop and implement community engagement plans.
- Establish mechanisms for collecting user feedback.
- Design and deliver user training programs.
- Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Provide support to both business and IT teams.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
- Review new service and technology requests.
- Assist in creating mockups, wireframes, or process models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on proof of concept and pilot rollouts.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business processes, goals, and challenges.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design services and solutions.
- Ensure solutions are feasible from a business and technical perspective.
- Create documentation explaining solution designs, architecture, and integrations.
- Ensure seamless integration of digital solutions with existing systems.
- Work with project managers to define scope, milestones, and timelines.
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and estimates.
- Assist in developing task lists and resource assignments.
- Make recommendations to project team members.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide quality control on production implementations.
- Develop and implement solutions individually and as a team member.
- Ensure change management processes are followed.
- Provide tracking and reporting of time and status.
Required Skills & Certifications: - 3+ years' experience as a business analyst translating business requirements.
- 3+ years' experience as a project coordinator leading technical teams.
- 3+ years' experience defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders.
- 3+ years' experience developing integrated system and technical design specifications.
- 3+ years' experience gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders.
- 3+ years' proven experience as a Microsoft 365 specialist.
Preferred Skills & Certifications: - 3+ years' experience analyzing process maps, descriptions, and data flow diagrams.
- 3+ years' experience developing project documents for various initiatives.
- 3+ years' experience with IT service management.
- 3+ years' experience working on projects with changing priorities.
- 3+ years' experience working within an agile development environment.
Special Considerations: - Must work from within Canada due to network and data security issues.
- Role is primarily remote, but occasional on-site meetings in Edmonton may be required. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
- Must provide own computer and related equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Windows OS is preferred.
- Background check required.
- Mandatory training (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Security awareness training) required post-hire.
Scheduling: - Standard hours are 08:15 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- Work schedule is remote, with potential for occasional on-site meetings in Edmonton.
