Job summary

Manulife Financial Corporation’s Investor Relations (IR) team seeks an AVP to lead communications with the investment community, including institutional shareholders and equity analysts. The role focuses on quarterly results, shareholder engagement programs, and messaging that supports a fair valuation for MFC shares.

The AVP will partner with senior management across functions, manage IR marketing plans, travel for events, and build strong relationships with analysts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Strong understanding of financial and capital markets.
• Past Equity Research, Investment Banking or Institutional Sales experience is an asset.
• Good understanding of the insurance business and/or Manulife’s products and distribution strategies is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical capability and financial modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare investor communication material for quarterly financial results.
• Lead the development and drafting of earnings press releases, slides and speaking notes for earnings calls/webcasts.
• Collaborate with Segment Finance, Strategy, Group Finance and Media Relations to shape quarterly messaging.
• Review and communicate investors' sentiment and expectations to senior management.
• Act as primary contact for institutional shareholders and analysts regarding questions on financial results.
• Plan and implement a global IR marketing schedule and investor events.
• Travel to IR events as required.
• Review external disclosures to ensure investor needs are met.
