Job summary

Mon Sheong Foundation seeks an IPAC Lead to design, implement, and supervise the infection prevention and control program across the home. You will coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to uphold high IPAC standards and ensure ongoing staff education and resident safety.

The role requires nurse leadership, English proficiency, and a commitment to quality care in a long-term care setting in Ontario. Experience with outbreak management and hand hygiene programs is essential.

Qualifications

• Current certification in infection control from the appropriate board or willingness to obtain it on hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with a current certificate of competence preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications (Health Care Provider level) preferred or required for nursing staff.
• 3 years of relevant long-term care facility experience including infection control or senior management.
• Proficiency in oral and written English; Cantonese/Mandarin skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the infection prevention and control program with the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage and supervise the IPAC program across the home.
• Educate staff, caregivers, volunteers, visitors and residents on IPAC practices.
• Audit IPAC practices and convene outbreak management team when needed.
• Lead quarterly IPAC team meetings and contribute to quality management.
• Ensure records, trend analysis, and daily/monthly screening data are reviewed for action.
• Guide improvements to IPAC program based on audits and data.
