Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission IoT sensors, gateways, and edge devices in mining sites.
  • Configure data acquisition systems to ensure real-time connectivity.
  • Integrate IoT systems with SCADA, PLC, and cloud platforms.
  • Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal hardware placement.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Job description

CBM360TIV is seeking a technically strong IoT Installation Engineer to deploy, configure, and commission industrial IoT systems across active mining operations in Timmins. The role focuses on sensor integration, real-time monitoring systems, and connectivity infrastructure in harsh mining environments. This is a hands‑on field engineering role. Precision, safety compliance, and troubleshooting capability are mandatory.

Reporting To

Operations Manager / Technical Director – CBM360TIV Canada

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission IoT sensors, gateways, and edge devices in underground and surface mining sites
  • Configure data acquisition systems and ensure real-time connectivity
  • Integrate IoT systems with SCADA, PLC, and cloud platforms
  • Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal hardware placement
  • Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with mining safety and electrical standards
  • Prepare technical documentation and commissioning reports
Education & Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation
  • Certification in IoT, Industrial Networking, or Automation (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Canadian electrical and mining safety regulations
Experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in industrial IoT, automation, or instrumentation
  • Experience working in mining or heavy industrial environments preferred
  • Field commissioning experience is essential
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA)
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and edge computing devices
  • Knowledge of wireless networks (LoRaWAN, LTE, Wi‑Fi industrial setups)
  • Basic cybersecurity awareness for industrial systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and instrumentation diagrams
Languages
  • English (Mandatory)
  • French (Asset but not required in Ontario operations)
