Job summary

LoopX is a Physical AI company with operations in Sudbury and Toronto, seeking an engineer/technologist/technician or electrician to install and commission AI-based safety systems on mining equipment. The role combines field work with design support and technical documentation.

You will install, commission, troubleshoot, and document deployments in underground, surface, and remote environments, and travel frequently including internationally.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Technology, and/or experience as technician or electrician.
• Hands-on skills in electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deployments in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience creating technical documentation and using design tools for schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission AI-based safety and productivity systems on mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform electrical and mechanical work such as sensor mounting, cable routing, and wiring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during field deployment.
• Create technical documentation, reports, and installation procedures.
• Support design updates and maintain installation documentation.

Job description

LoopX is a Physical AI company based in Sudbury and Toronto. We build all-condition intelligence for mining and heavy industry. Our systems are deployed on active mining equipment, improving safety, increasing productivity, and enabling the future of autonomous mining.

We are seeking a motivated engineer, technologist, technician, or electrician with strong practical skills and technical knowledge. This position combines hands-on field installation with technical design support and documentation.

You will install and commission our systems in mining environments, while also assisting with design tasks and creating technical documentation to support ongoing projects. Applicants with strengths in either area are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Install and commission in the field

• > Install and commission AI-based safety and productivity systems on mobile mining equipment and stationary infrastructure
• > Perform electrical and mechanical work such as sensor mounting, cable routing, and wiring
• > Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during field deployment
• > Communicate with mine personnel and provide structured feedback to the engineering team

Support design and documentation

• > Assist with design by updating wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation procedures
• > Create technical documentation, reports, and manuals to support future deployments

What we're looking for

• > Diploma or degree in Engineering or Technology, and/or experience as a technician or electrician
• > Strong hands-on skills in electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting
• > Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• > Experience creating technical documentation and using design tools for schematics and diagrams
• > Able to work independently and safely in underground, surface, and remote environments
• > Valid G-class driver's licence
• > Willingness to travel frequently, including internationally
