Canaccord Genuity Corp. in Toronto seeks an Associate for the Origination group to support corporate finance, M&A, and capital markets activities. You will work with senior bankers, develop financial models, and contribute to client pitches and presentations.

A proactive, detail-oriented professional will thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a university degree in business and at least three years of investment banking experience, with strong modeling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare transaction documentation and marketing materials.
• Track milestones and manage workstreams to ensure successful execution.

Associates in this group play a key role in supporting the identification, development and execution of new business opportunities across corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, and equity capital markets transactions. Working closely with senior bankers, clients, and internal product specialists, the Associate is responsible for conducting financial analysis, developing client presentations, managing deal processes, and contributing to relationship management efforts that drive revenue growth and market expansion. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, exceptional communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.Skills & QualificationsCompletion of a university degree in a business-related disciplineMinimum of three (3) years of investment banking experience in a similar role – experience in both M&A and corporate finance preferredSolid quantitative skills including strong financial modeling skillsStrong analytical ability and written communication skillsResourceful, diligent and strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities ResponsibilitiesAssist senior bankers in preparing strategic client pitches, marketing materials and relationship plans.Build and maintain complex financial models, including discounted cash flows (DCF’s), comparable company analyses, precedent transaction analyses, leveraged buyout models (LBO), and merger and acquisition accretion / dilution analyses.Develop valuation materials and transaction recommendations for internal and client presentations.Coordinate due diligence activities and data room management.Prepare transaction documentation, marketing materials, and management presentations.Liaise with clients, legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors throughout the transaction life cycle.Track transaction milestones and manage workstreams to ensure successful execution.Monitor market trends, industry developments, and capital market activity to identify opportunities for clients.Participate in client meetings and contribute to relationship management activities.Total RewardsThe expected base salary for this role is $125,000 - $135,000 and will be based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
