Location: Montreal, Full-time in office

Valnet is seeking a highly analytical and driven Investment Analyst to help run the acquisition lifecycle and manage our internal investments.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This person will report directly to the Head of M&A and will work closely with our Brands and leadership team regarding future and potential acquisitions.

Responsibilities

1. Co-lead the entire acquisition lifecycle: understanding the competitive landscape, sourcing, pipeline growth, capital deployment, valuation, negotiations, due diligence, assisting counsel with purchase agreement drafting, and managing integration/operations to drive results in line with IRR expectations.
2. Manage internal investments by leading operations with content/business partners and driving operational/financial results as per expectations.
3. Assist investment team with ad hoc requests such as operational and financial modeling, budgeting, tracking, KPIs, and support for special projects, reporting, meetings, and presentations.
4. Identify and present new investment opportunities.
5. Support portfolio management and operations on special mandates.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
2. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
3. 1-3 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, VC, or corporate development.
4. Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes.
5. Self-motivated learner with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
6. Interest in adtech, media, or technology.
