About the Role :

Fitzrovia is looking to hire an Analyst to join our investment team in Montreal. The Analyst will work collaboratively with all departments and interact directly with Fitzrovia's senior management. The analyst will be exposed to all aspects of real estate development and asset management, particularly new acquisitions, development, construction, corporate finance, accounting, asset management and property management tasks.

As we are a highly collaborative team, this position is full-time in the Montreal office, and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office from Monday to Friday. Regular travel to Toronto is also required.

Responsibilities :

  • Evaluate potential investments by preparing detailed financial models and market studies.
  • Perform data-driven analyses to assist in making key decisions, including financing, dezoning, development design, construction bidding and leasing strategy.
  • Contribute to the transaction closing process, including review of due diligence documentation and coordination with internal resources, third-party consultants and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to arranging financing for construction projects and acquisitions, including preparation of lender files, appraisals, budgets and due diligence documentation.
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of new business strategies and products.
  • Prepare marketing materials and conduct due diligence to support new investment products offered by Fitzrovia.
  • Prepare market analyses, including the evaluation of comparable properties, to help establish the leasing and marketing strategy for new assets.
  • Work in collaboration with the construction, development and property management teams to ensure the successful launch of new assets, including the transition from the construction phase to the operational phase.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans for all new development and acquisition assets.
  • Collaborate with the property management team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
  • Work with corporate finance and accounting teams to prepare and amend annual operating budgets.
  • Prepare presentation materials for internal and external use.
  • Assist senior management as required with any further analysis at company, portfolio, property or market level.
  • Exercise judgment and implement recommendations in a range of unstructured tasks.

Qualifications and Experiences :

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance or similar field.
  • 1-3 years' experience in an investment bank, private equity firm or real estate company.
  • Experience in real estate investments is highly desirable.
  • Advanced analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English & French is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic with the flexibility to work regularly outside normal working hours, according to business needs.
  • Critical and highly analytical mind with good judgment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently and synergistically in a lean, flat corporate structure.
  • Experience in real estate is not necessary, but a strong interest in real estate is essential.
