AFIMAC is seeking an experienced & licensed Private Investigator for part-time (with potential for full-time) work in Ontario.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Conduct open-source intelligence inquiries on individuals and corporations for enhanced due diligence, litigation, and security matters.
- Review documentary and electronic information efficiently, identifying patterns, connections, risks, and highlighting important details relevant to cases.
- Support senior investigators and analysts in their investigative activities.
- Prepare high-quality written reports following our standard reporting methodology.
- Conduct social media monitoring for risks, threats, and relevant content to assist clients.
- Maintain focus on business requirements and develop solutions to meet team needs.
While primarily focused on investigation and intelligence products, the role also includes ad-hoc responsibilities to support consulting and training.
The Qualifications You Possess

- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Be comfortable working independently and in teams.
- Be creative, solutions-oriented, and passionate about solving problems.
- Have experience researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data from online and offline sources, including social media, apps, public record databases, and search engines.
- Be proficient with standard office software, analytical tools such as Excel, social media platforms, and deep web databases.
- Have demonstrated experience in open-source intelligence, investigations, intelligence analysis, and law, especially related to commercial matters.
- Be organized with strong prioritization skills.
- Currently hold, or qualify for, a security clearance with the Government of Canada and provincial governments.
- Possess an Ontario Private Investigator’s license, which is mandatory.
- Have a university degree in business, law, political science, criminology, or a similar field; relevant work experience or college diplomas may also be considered.
- Have completed training in open-source intelligence analysis and analytical tools/techniques.
