Job summary

The Equipment Operator I role with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Transportation and Infrastructure division involves safe operation and routine servicing of light vehicles to transport materials and passengers. You will pick up and deliver parts, office supplies, and mail, maintaining inventory records in a computerized system and reporting any defects to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience with transportation and delivery of goods.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Experience in stockroom.
• Experience with computerized inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service light vehicles safely to transport materials and passengers.
• Pickup and deliver parts, office supplies, mail, etc. to various locations.
• Maintain inventory records using a computerized system; issue/receive parts.
• Report mechanical defects to supervisor; keep stockroom clean and safe.
• Provide front counter/customer service as needed and maintain filing system.
• Perform minor vehicle repairs and routine maintenance (gas, oil, grease).
• May operate forklift and travel throughout the region as required.
