Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in an inventory, data entry, yard clerk, or administrative role within a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment (wood/lumber/building products industry experience is a bonus).

Responsibilities

  • Enter daily inventory transactions in SAP with accuracy.
  • Process inventory receivings, stock adjustments, and transfers to support yard and manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate RTVs, vendor disputes, and invoice verification to support accounts payable.
  • Maintain organized documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.

Job description

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependableInventory Clerkto join our team at ourShelburne facility(specializing in lumber and composite manufacturing).

In this role, you will be the backbone of daily plant data entry and yard inventory administration. You will collaborate closely with yard and operations personnel to ensure accurate stock records, process receiving and adjustments, manage vendor returns and disputes, and support purchase order and invoice verification through SAP.

*This role may require 5% travel, assistance in month-end and year-end inventory*

Compensation: $50,900 – $63,600 CAD

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry & System Updates (~70% of the role):

  • Accurately enter and process daily inventory transactions withinSAP.
  • Process inventory receivings, stock adjustments, and transfers to support daily yard and manufacturing operations.
  • Facilitate and recordReturn to Vendor (RTV)transactions and handlecustomer disputes/chargebacks(e.g., Home Depot dispute resolution).

Inventory Control & Yard Support:

  • Coordinate and record routinecycle counts; investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical stock and SAP records.
  • Serve as administrative support for the yard team, addressing daily inventory queries, order status, and material tracking needs.

Purchasing & Invoice Processing:

  • PerformPO (Purchase Order)tracking, matching, and closing.
  • CompleteVIM (Vendor Invoice Management)processing and invoice verification to support plant accounts payable flow.

General Administration:

  • Maintain clean, organized documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Assist plant management with ad-hoc administrative or operational support tasks as required.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment with periodic communication with plant floor personnel and shipping/receiving yards.
  • Occasional plant visits or physical yard audits as required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary coursework in business, supply chain, logistics, or administration is a plus.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an inventory, data entry, yard clerk, or administrative role within a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment (wood/lumber/building products industry experience is a bonus).
Technical Skills
  • SAP experience is required(or strong familiarity with an equivalent enterprise ERP system).
  • Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Exceland Office Suite (considered an asset).
  • Familiarity with POs, vendor invoicing/VIM, and shipping/receiving documentation.
Core Competencies
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong data-entry speed.
  • Dependable with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively bridge communication between Sales, Plant Managers, Logistics, and Procurement.
  • Ability to work reliably on-site Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
