Job summary

Petroplan Canada is seeking an Hydrocarbon Reconciliation Analyst in Calgary to track refined product movements and reconcile inventories across multiple terminals. You will gain exposure to logistics management, commodity scheduling, terminal operations and finance accounting, shaping end-to-end product movement and deal cycles.

The role requires 3+ years in reconciliation or accounting, strong SAP S4/Fiori experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or other applicable field.
  • 3+ years of reconciliation, inventory, or accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S4, SAP Fiori, etc. as it pertains to hydrocarbon material movements.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including the MS Power platform.
  • Self-motivated with a mindset to close variances and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and facilitation skills across deal-cycle stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Daily transactional inventory reconciliation of many distribution terminals across Canada, ensuring physical movements are accurately reflected in our ERP system.
  • Analyze abnormal stock variations, troubleshoot and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve.
  • Perform daily and monthly SOX compliance activities contributing to month-end closure.
  • Contribute to achieving and exceeding KPIs impacting business outcomes.
  • Work across functions to resolve customer and supplier inventory variances to optimize refined products portfolio.

Description: Our Reconciliation team ensures our Finance and sales partners have precise and complete hydrocarbon data. We are looking for an Analyst to be a key player in tracking and representing refined product movements and inventory. Key Accountabilities:

An Hydrocarbon Reconciliation Analyst is a professional who is responsible for reconciling the refined products inventory items across revenue and expense terminals across the country. The work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the physical inventory and transactions are represented in the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Daily transactional inventory reconciliation of many distribution terminals across Canada, ensuring the physical transactions and movements are accurately and timely reflected in our ERP system of record.
  • Analyze abnormal stock variations, lead troubleshooting & work with internal and external stakeholders (terminal staff, front office, accounting, settlements) to resolve and actualize.
  • Perform daily and monthly compliance requirements (Sarbanes-Oxley - SOX) contributing to accurate month end closure process'
  • Contribute to achieving and exceeding Key Performance indicators impacting business outcomes.
  • Work across functions to resolve customer and supplier inventory variances providing class leading support enabling front office and customer facing stakeholders to grow and optimize our refined products portfolio
Analyst Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or other applicable field
  • 3+ years of reconciliation, inventory, or accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP S4, SAP Fiori, etc. as it pertains to hydrocarbon material movements
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including the MS Power platform
  • Self-motivated, with a continuous development and improvement mindset seeking to close variances and prevent reoccurrence
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and facilitation skills to successfully navigate the deal cycle stakeholders from front office thru to settlements.
