Job summary

Canadian Bank Note Company in Ottawa, ON is seeking an Inventory Accountant to safeguard the accuracy and financial integrity of inventory across our secure manufacturing environments.

You will lead month-end close activities, reconcile balances, analyze variances, and support reporting while strengthening internal controls.

Collaborating with Production, Supply Chain and Finance, you’ll drive process improvements and help protect high-value materials throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Able to obtain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) Security Clearance in a timely manner.
• College diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Adminstration or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 2+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting positions.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of CBNC's products, manufacturing processes, and inventory flows.
• Build detailed knowledge of inventory components and how they support production of secure document solutions.
• Lead all month-end inventory close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to timelines.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement teams to ensure recording of inventory movements.
• Perform ongoing inventory analysis, including aging, turnover, and reserve assessments to identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
• Oversee and coordinate annual physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts, including audit support and documentation.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls over inventory processes and reporting.
