Job summary

Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB, is hiring an Intramural Student Leader. This casual, flexible role supports staff, schedules leagues, and mentors officials. Evening availability and in-person work at MRU Recreation (and Flames Community Arena for hockey) are required.

Ideal candidates are MRU students or university students with sport officiating interest, and must hold or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work with minimal supervisory assistance as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to lead, train, and mentor officials and scorekeepers.
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills.
• Open attitude to working with a diverse population.
• Ability to make quick informed decisions on the spot.
• Extensive experience with the sport.

Responsibilities

• Co-coordinate Intramural leagues and staff management.
• Oversee league scheduling, team management, and communications.
• Guide 1-3 specific sport leagues and supervise 3-5 leads.
• Ensure safety, fairness, and positive participant conduct.
