Job summary

EBC Inc. is offering an internship on a construction project based in Campbell River. You will support the Project Manager with planning, organizing, and site execution tasks while developing design standards and resolving complex on-site engineering issues.

Ideal candidates are versatile, quick learners with strong teamwork skills, able to meet deadlines, and willing to travel. This program provides professional development and potential for future opportunities in Canada-wide projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering, in progress.
• Relevant experience in engineering or construction is an asset.
• Driver's license or ability to travel may be required.
• Agrees to work 4 months on site (Campbell River).

Responsibilities

• Monitor works daily through the technical and administrative tasks assigned to you.
• Plan and oversee works coordination with foremen, surveyors, superintendents, engineers, project managers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and follow up on technical issues in plans and specifications.
• Prepare, monitor, analyse and manage subcontractor files.
• Contribute to contract negotiations when necessary.
• Contribute to project scheduling.
• Obtain permits and authorizations required to carry out work.
• Plan and check material orders as needed.
• Follow-up on \"Conflict detection\" when the project is executed in BIM.
• Assist, review and communicate technical questions and change requests to the customer representative and follow-up when required.
• Plan, supervise and contribute to the development of appropriate construction methods and processes per contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety requirements.
• Participate in site meetings with various project stakeholders.
• Follow up and manage deficiencies at the end of the project.
• Contribute to traffic management when required.

During your internship, you will be involved or oversee duties usually assigned to a Project Manager. You will assist the Project Manager in various tasks pertaining to the job site, including planning, organizing, and supporting project execution works; from negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to providing support with work methods. You will also develop and suggest improvements to design standards, advise, and solve complex design and engineering issues on site.
