  • Reviews tuition status and fees for international students and Quebec non-residents.
  • Administers mandatory international student health insurance, including enrolment, RAMQ and exemptions, and related records.
  • Coordinates with International Education, Student Services and Records teams to maintain accurate files and resolve discrepancies.

Job Description:

Reporting to theCoordinator of Admissions & Support Systems and working as part of theAdmissions team, the Admissions and International Student Records Technicianperforms technical admissions and student-record functions, with particularresponsibility for international students, convention refugees and Quebecnon-residents.

The incumbent shares inthe regular activities of the Admissions team and works closely withInternational Education, Continuing Education, Student Services and the Recordsteam to support the accurate and timely processing of student files.Responsibilities include admissions, immigration and residency documentation,tuition assessment, mandatory health insurance and student records, inaccordance with College procedures and applicable government requirements.

More specifically, but not limited to, the Administrative Technician completes tasks in the following areas.

International,Refugee and Quebec Non-Resident Admissions, Compliance and Student Records (DayDivision, Continuing Education and RAC)
  • Reviews and evaluates applications in accordancewith established College and Ministry admissions criteria and determineswhether requirements have been met, referring exceptional or unclear cases tothe Coordinator or appropriate manager;
  • Receives and verifies immigration, residency andsupporting documentation, communicates established requirements to students,and follows up on missing, incomplete or expiring documents;
  • Monitors required immigration and residencydocumentation throughout the student lifecycle and, where establishedrequirements are not met, applies the appropriate administrative action in thestudent record in accordance with College procedures;
  • Reviews tuition status and applicable fees forinternational students and Quebec non-residents;
  • Administers mandatory international studenthealth insurance, including enrolment, eligibility, RAMQ and exemptions,coverage changes, billings, refunds and related records;
  • Works closely with International Education,Student Services and the Records team to coordinate student-file requirements,maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies;
  • Acts as a primary point of contact for studentsregarding admissions, required documentation and insurance.
Admissions (Day Division, ContinuingEducation and RAC)
  • Participates in the regular activities of theAdmissions team and shares admissions responsibilities according to operationalneeds and established procedures;
  • Reviews and processes DEC, AEC and RACapplications in accordance with established College and Ministry admissionscriteria and determines whether requirements have been met, referringexceptional or unclear cases to the Coordinator or appropriate manager;
  • Prepares admissions decisions and formalresponses and follows up with applicants regarding missing documentation oroutstanding requirements;
  • Works closely with Continuing Education staff to coordinateadmissions activities, provide information to applicants and support timelyprocessing of AEC and RAC applications.

Other related tasks which fall within the scope ofthe classification of this position may be assigned.
