Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency program in Internal Medicine.
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the applicable provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.
• Membership in good standing with CMPA.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation for referred patients.
• Diagnose and manage complex multi-system conditions.
• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and cardiovascular disease.
• Interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, labs, imaging) and develop management plans.
• Work closely with family physicians, specialists, and allied health teams.
• Provide consultation advice and shared-care management.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to referring providers.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in the EMR.
• Ensure documentation meets provincial and medico-legal standards.
• Provide risk assessment and long-term disease prevention strategies.
• Support patient education and self-management of chronic conditions.

Education

Medical degree from a recognized medical school
